I will stamp all over 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be shown live on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex two time world title holder Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge disparity - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I will break his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to seriously aim to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of these statements, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally known for his dramatics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "a joke" after Ngannou rejected a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK rival Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

However, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's greatest money-making draws, frequently receiving substantial paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old anticipated a KO victory in rounds four or five and asserted he would prevent the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly in the works for two years from now.

"It will be my match with Fury next year," Paul stated.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul participated in the usual face-off, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it emphasized just how unlikely this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is really going ahead.
